The Town Council works to protect, promote and progress the economic, environmental, social and cultural well being of the people of Driffield. We work in partnership with various agencies to fulfil our aims, including the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and voluntary and professional organisations. The Town Council works hard to ensure that the town, and its inhabitants, receives the best possible service from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and often provides a vital link between the people and the officers. The Council is funded by the precept, an amount included in the council tax paid to the East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The councillors are here to help all parishioners with queries and concerns. We are situated at 2-4 Market Walk, Driffield and the office hours are generally 9am - 12.30pm and 1pm - 4pm. Meetings: The Town Council meets on the first and third Tuesday of each month, excluding August. The Planning Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month, excluding August. All our council meetings are open to the public and generally begin at 7.30pm in the Council Chamber. The Town Council meeting each month offers an opportunity for members of the public to speak and ask questions of the councillors and make comment. Standing Committees : The Allotment Committee meets three times a year. The CCTV Committee meets the last Thursday in the month except August and December. The Festival Committee meets monthly from October to July.
